| Using natural white birch bark and wood materials of her native Wisconsin, Look constructs perfectly symmetrical and elegant baskets. The natural vertical markings in the birch establish an organic pattern that is used to emphasize the vertical form. Using silk thread, she sewed the sections of bark together with remarkable skill and sensitivity, demonstrating respect for the material and reminding us of the importance of harmony in our relationship with nature. |
